We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our client’s busy manufacturing team in Corby. Our client is a well-established manufacturer of conveyor and material handling equipment, supplying high-quality mechanical solutions to distribution and logistics operations across the UK and internationally.
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Working Hours: Day Shift, Monday to Friday
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble telescopic boom conveyor units in line with engineering drawings and specifications
- Install and align motors, gearboxes, drive systems, rollers, and associated mechanical components
- Test boom sections to ensure smooth extension, retraction, and safe mechanical operation
- Carry out mechanical adjustments and fault finding during build and testing stages
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively
- Complete quality checks and ensure all work meets company standards and Health & Safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Strong understanding of mechanical components and drive systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures
