The role is too Liaise between the companies Food Group sites in UK, Austria and Germany and other European Manufacturing Partners for the UK multiple sectors. This is a very customer centric role, requiring interaction between Manufacturing sites and UK retail customers.
The role requires travel approx. 1 site visit per month mainly focusing on main European sites and our UK manufacturing facility in the North East.
The role will manage a Food Safety Co-ordinator and Management of the sites BRC Food Agents & Brokers certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The lead role between Site Technical Teams, Market Harborough site and UK Food retailers.
- Lead projects alongside site senior management within the business for maintaining site BRC Agents & Brokers.
- Manage & Develop the Technical Food Safety Co-ordinator.
- Work closely with the Product Development Team to deliver products to launch with support on the end-to-end process; inclusive of supporting with customer meetings and visits.
- Lead & Support sites during customer audits and technical visits.
- Facilitate investigations into non-conformance, including detailed investigation and providing support in resolution.
- Provide legislative/technical expertise to both internal and external relative functions and organisations to ensure the company operates within the law.
- Be responsible for ensuring our private label suppliers meet UK retailer standards including environmental & sustainability commitments.
- Advise and administer with the technical team all regulatory changes which impact on the business and ensure that they are delivered within the timeline set by legislation or internally.
- Implement appropriate systems of QC checks within the business to ensure that products meet or exceed the agreed specification.
- Liaise with suppliers to implement and collate a product specification/information library.
- Manage pest control requirements for the site.
- Ensure KPI data is collated and submitted at agreed frequencies.
- Liaise with Customer Service regarding customer/consumer complaints and advise on the most appropriate course of action.
- With support of the supply chain team, lead product recalls including mock recalls with suppliers or manufacturers.
- Ensure appropriate systems are in place to check and sign off all lines as required to ensure compliance to label and safety regulations.
- Manage departmental costs.
- Be the lead HACCP and Crisis team member.
- Any other duties as requested by the business needs.
Essential Job-Related Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a technical or quality role within the food industry
- Qualifications in HACCP and Food Safety Level 2 – Essential
- Experience in achieving and maintaining BRC accreditation.
- Can demonstrate an understanding of quality control.
- Experience with UK retailer standards, processes, and on-line systems.
- Experience of conducting supplier assurance audits and assessing new suppliers
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Extremely IT literate.
- Willing to travel UK & Overseas as required.
Flexibility of working Hours, Location and Work from Home is available within the 40.00 hours per week.
Business travel to Manufacturing sites is a part of the role (valid passport is a must)
Salary: c £35k – £40k
